Namaste! Welcome to Tasty Vantalu In Today’s Session we are going to show you how to prepare Tomato Rasam We can prepare this recipe very easily This dish will go well with Hot rice. I’m going to add Tomatoes and home made Rasam powder. Ifyou wish to learn how to prepare Rasam powder at home we are providing link in decription box for Rasam powder recipe, Please check it Let us see the ingredients to prepare this recipe 3 Medium size Tomatoes roughly chopped Small lemon size Tamarind. Prepare juice or pulp with it. One Green chilli, Slit it Lengthwise 1 Dried Red chilli 1/4 Spoon Mustard Seeds 1/2 Spoon Cumin Seeds 5 or 6 Garlic Cloves Crush them roughly Pinch of Turmeric Powder 2 Spoons Rasam Powder 1 Spoon Dried Coconut Powder Salt as per requirement Curry leaves Fresh Coriander leaves and 2 Spoons cooking oil Let us see the cooking process Pre heat the vessel and add oil into it once it is enough hot, add mustard seeds & cumin seeds Once they splatter, add roughly crushed Garlic cloves and also add dried red chilli along with Green chilli and curry leaves and saute them I have already addes Hing/asafoetida inmy home made rasam powder. So, I am not adding again. If you are using store bought or readymade rasam powder, you can add hing. Now add chopped Tomatoes Now add Turmeric powder and salt according to your taste and mix it well. Now cover the vessel and cook in slow flame, till our tomatoes are fully cooked. Saute them in between occasionally otherwise it may burn the bottom. Our tomatoes are not yet fully cooked, now cover the vessel again and cook for some more time. Let us open the lid Our tomatoes are perfectly cooked if you oil tomatoes in cooking oil it will enhance the taste of our Tomato Rasam Now add Tomato juice or Pulp and also add water according to your taste Now add 2 Spoons of Home made Rasam powder and mix it properly If you like your Rasam to be thicker add more Rasam powder or you may reduce the quantity of Rasam powder as per your required consistency. Now check the taste and if required you can add some more water & salt at this time. Now add dried Coconut powder mix it well and cook for some time without covering the vessel by adding Dried coconut powder it will enhance the taste of our Tomato Rasam. You also try once.
