Today, we will learn a different style upma,
it is called ‘Oats Upma’. To make Oats Upma, take 1/2 cup
oats in the pan and dry roast it. Roast it without oil or
ghee (clarified butter). Keep stirring until it changes in color. Now, you can see the color has changed,
now remove it in a plate and cool it down. Next, take two and half cups
of water in a vessel and boil it. Once the water comes to a boil,
add 2 tbsp green peas. 1/2 cup chopped carrot and
let the vegetables cook. Vegetables are cooked well, now
switch off the stove and keep it aside. Next, add 1 tbsp ghee in a pan and heat it. Once the ghee is hot,
add 1 tbsp mustard seeds. 1 tbsp urad dal and saute it well. Next, add few curry leaves. 2 chopped green chillies. 1/2 tsp asafoetida. Add 1 tbsp cashew nuts and mix it well. Next, add finely chopped onion
and saute it well. Once the onions are soft, add 1/2 cup
semolina and roast it for few minutes. Semolina is nicely roasted,
now add roasted oats. Mix it well. Next, add boiled vegetables
along with water. Mix it well. Keep stirring as the water dries out. Once oats are cooked well,
add 2 tbsp yogurt. Salt to taste. 1 tbsp lemon juice. Pinch of sugar, it is optional
if you want you can add. 1/2 cup grated fresh coconut. Add coriander leaves and mix it well. See, the healthy Oats Upma is ready. Do try it at home and enjoy.
