King of sweets, Gulab Jamun! That means, king of sweets… My Director has given me a script
about Gulab Jamun.. ..but I am not able to recite it.. ..as when one talks about Gulab Jamun.. ..you can instantly imagine is
Gulab Jamuns immersed in sugar syrup! It’s mouthwatering! Everyone loves them! Narayan, shall I start making them? Directly? I don’t remember the lines! Shall I?
– Yes, go ahead. So, let’s start making, ‘Gulab Jamun’! Here I have a large bowl full of sugar! Gulab Jamun and sugar syrup go hand in hand. So, firstly let’s prepare the sugar syrup. Sugar syrup is not necessary
to be of one or two thread consistency! Once it thickens, we can switch off the stove. Let’s add 1 and a half cups water. And, let’s add a bit of cardamom (elaichi) powder.. ..and let it come to a boil. Now, let’s start preparing the Gulab Jamuns.. ..but before that, let’s heat the oil. Reduce the flame. Let’s take a bowl.. ..and add 150 grams of khoya. We have grated the khoya. Next, add 3 tbsp of semolina (rawa)
but make sure you do not roast it. Opt for the semolina used for preparing sheera. And then, let’s add
3 tbsp of all purpose flour (maida) 2 pinches of baking powder. Half a tsp of cardamom (elaichi) powder. Finally, add paneer made with 1 litre of milk.. ..and knead it well. This is done, now let’s make
small round balls of the dough We have made the balls, let’s
shape them nicely. In this way, we are done making
all the Gulab Jamuns. Let’s fry them now. Oil is hot enough, make sure that you do not
heat it as much we do for the tempering. Heat it a little less in comparison to it. Now, let’s take out the Gulab Jamuns. They are nicely fried. In this way, let’s fry the remaining Gulab Jamuns. Till the Gulab Jamuns are being fried,
let’s check the sugar syrup. Sugar syrup is ready,
let’s switch off the stove. Most of the time while we are in a hurry.. ..we put hot and piping Gulab Jamuns
in the sugar syrup. But then, they tend to soften from the centre. So, take them out on a plate,
let them cool down for about 5 minutes.. ..and then add to the sugar syrup
and let to come to a boil once again.. ..so that they turn nice and puffed. 5 minutes later. 5 minutes are over,
now let’s add Gulab Jamuns to the sugar syrup. Now, let’s switch on the stove
and let it come a boil. Immerse them well in the sugar syrup.. ..and let it come to a boil. It’s boiled, let’s switch off the stove. Gulab Jamuns are ready! Now, let’s serve them. Let’s pour the sugar syrup. Yummy, yummy and yummy
Gulab Jamuns are ready.. ..and I wish to only keep looking at them!
